At the meeting the Parties discussed holding regular Joint Meeting of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Foreign Policy of the Parliaments of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. The Parties dwelled on the prospects of cooperation between Moldova and Ukraine. They stated that exit meeting of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Foreign Affairs is scheduled for the third ten-day period of March 2008.
During the meeting the Parties exchanged their opinions regarding latest events in Kosovo. The interlocutors expressed their concern with possible disruption of Helsinki Agreement on Collective Security on Europe.
The Parties also discussed further economic cooperation between Moldova and Transdniestria. The Ambassador of Moldova stated that new medical establishments were founded in Transdniestria, for instance, a large cardiological center in Teraspil. Considerable attention is devoted also to the maintenance of roads.
The Parties commented on the higher level of trade economic cooperation between Moldova and Ukraine. It is confirmed by the facts that trade turnover between the two countries exceeded 1 billion US dollars in Year 2007.
